\"Course<\/p>\n

The Course Aveugle Xtr\u00eame is an automobile race driven by the blind. Each visually impaired individual is accompanied by a co-driver \u2013 a well-known person from the business, politics, or arts communities. The co-driver assists the blind driver, indicating to him or her the maneuvers required to race around the third-of-a-mile oval circuit, avoiding obstacles and other vehicles in his or her path. They are, in a sense, the eyes of our drivers during the race.\"Course<\/p>\n

The \u201crace\u201d lasts 20 minutes or 12 laps \u2013 whichever comes first. The one who crosses the finish line first after 12 laps or the allotted 20 minutes will be declared champion of the 2017 Course Aveugle Xtr\u00eame<\/em>.<\/p>\n

The Story<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Mr. Yves Ladouceur, a dedicated man wanting to combine his passion for racing with the cause of the blind, along with Roland Quenneville, involved for many years in helping the blind, both contacted the Foundation in 2012 to organize this original fundraising event.<\/p>\n

The organizers are proud to have donated over the first three editions nearly $75,000 to organizations that assist the visually impaired, thanks to the generous participation of sponsors.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n
