A School of Life<\/b><\/h1>\n

\"YouthThe Quebec Foundation for the Blind offers athletic and recreational activities for visually impaired youths, helping them take on personal challenges and develop better self-esteem. Participating in the activities of the Foundation enables youths to break free from isolation and develop their social skills. During each activity, their network of friends grows and becomes a second family.<\/p>\n

To carry out these activities, we count on a great team of dynamic instructors that allow youths to realize their full potential. The facilitating team works hard to create an environment where everyone feels valued and respected.<\/p>\n

During the summer, youths can participate in trips to the countryside, for example. In the winter, they can take part in cross-country and downhill skiing, ice skating, and many other activities.<\/p>\n

The \u201cDu Sport pour Moi\u201d Program<\/h2>\n

The \u201cDu Sport pour Moi\u201d program, organized in partnership with the ASAQ and the Institut Nazareth et Louis-Braille, promotes sports adapted for the visually impaired. The project targets youths with visual impairment from 6 to 14 years of age and offers two sessions (fall\/winter), ten workshops per session, and seven different sports.<\/p>\n

Recreational Activities Since 1994<\/h2>\n

The Activities Department of the Quebec Foundation for the Blind emerged from the vision of a man convinced that youth development happens through activities. Ronald Beauregard, mobility intervenor , regretfully noted the lack of access to activities for blind and visually impaired youths integrated into the regular school.<\/p>\n

In 1994, he founded the \u201cSports-Loisirs Passe-Partout\u201d service.<\/p>\n

This service has enabled those experiencing a sense of isolation and exclusion to regroup and enjoy all kinds of activities, both recreational and athletic.<\/strong> <\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

In 1997, following the merger of the services under the banner of the Foundation, the Activities Department improves its structure and launches its first schedule of activities for youths between the ages of six and eighteen.<\/p>\n
