Our Prevention and Awareness Actions
The Foundation does not lose sight of the issue of prevention, which it considers as important as that of meeting the needs of people who have lost their eyesight. Accordingly, the Foundation devotes a significant part of its budget to educating and informing the population on how to prevent blindness. It publishes multiple leaflets to that effect, answers hundreds of phone calls, and sends many people to eye specialists so that they receive the necessary care to protect their eyes.
Likewise, the Foundation unabatedly continues its advocacy work in primary and secondary schools to raise awareness among youths about blindness and how blind people can continue to achieve success in daily activities, work, studies, sports, and recreational activities.
Finally, the Foundation is interested in the adaptation of new technologies because it can open up new avenues for the blind’s participation in our society. The Foundation financially supports the research and broadcasting of information.
